SUMMER FUN!

Summer is full of lovely berries: strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries.

Try some Chia Berry Jam:

Place 250g Berries in a saucepan to soften for 5-10 minutes, stir through 2- 3 tablespoons of Chia Seeds, cook for 5 minutes, it will start to go very thick. Have a taste, add 2-3 tbsp of maple syrup or honey if you would like it sweeter. If you want a smooth jam, just place it in the blender and whizz up. Place in jars, keeps for around a week.

SUMMER IS HERE!

How green are your fingers! It is the time for planting, and Mrs Bun the Baker is hoping that the Parsley and Basil seeds are going to grow well for you.

They willl take a while, but be patient.

With the parsley you will be able to add it to flavour salads, pies, pasta and it make a great sauce.

Basil makes delicious pesto with some pine nuts and cheese and I am forever sprinkling it on pizza and in tomato sauces.

WHAT WILL YOU MAKE WITH THOSE CUTTERS?

There is lots you can make with your  cutters this month, try using them for:

  • Cutting out Jammy Dodgers Biscuits, custard creams or even bourbons.

  • Use the larger cutter on the  pastry for Jam Tarts.

  • Make flowers from Fondant icing with lots of layers. To then decorate cakes with.

  • Toast some bread, cut out the centre with one of the cutters, place the 'hole' toast in a frying pan, crack an egg in the middle for some fancy filled toast!
