We've been accepted into Guild of Food Writers

Angela Johnson, aka Mrs Bun the Baker is thrilled, over the moon to have been accepted and recognised by the Guild of Food Writers, and is now a member of this established professional organisation whose patron is Delia Smith CH CBE.

The Guild of Food Writers is the UK’s association for professional food writers and broadcasters. Established in 1984, it acts as a network and showcase for nearly 600 authors, broadcasters, columnists and journalists, including many household names.

The Guild has a busy programme of events, both in person and online, and encourages the development of less experienced and emerging writers through its yearly Young Food Writer competition and mentorship scheme.

On 17 January 1985, the first actual meeting of the Guild of Food Writers took place in the equally august surroundings of Claridges, under the chairmanship of Derek Cooper. In the years that have followed, the Guild has grown to a membership of around 425 professional writers, editors, journalists and broadcasters in the field of food, nowadays equally at home in Thai gastropubs and farmers’ market food tents as in the marbled halls of grand hotels.
